Our story

After teaching and coaching football in Ohio's Public Schools, PJ and his wife, Delores, with the help and inspiration of close friends, founded P. J. Meduri Ministries, now known as Taking the Field Ministries. 


P.J. has ministered in numerous states and 31 foreign countries since his first international mission in 1994. He's been a volunteer and a staff member with the Fellowship of Christian Athletes (FCA). PJ is the author of 4 books and numerous devotional pieces in the 2005 FCA Coaches Bible. 


PJ has a Doctor of Ministry Degree from North Greenville University in Greer, SC., and is a partner evangelist with the Global Network of Evangelists.

He and Delores reside in West Virginia and are blessed with 17 grandchildren.

Our beliefs

The core belief of Taking the Field, is that the Bible, as made up by 39 Old Testament and 27 New Testament books, is the inspired, inerrant Word of God. Therefore is it the final authority for faith and life. It is through these Holy Scriptures whereby we learn that forgiveness of sins and eternal life is solely the result of faith in the Person and work of the Lord Jesus Christ.


In addition, the ministry supports the Lausanne Covenant and believes that church leaders such as the Evangelist have been given by Christ to minister themselves, and, to equip God's people for works of ministry (Ephesians 4:11-16).

Various publications are available through contacting the ministry. Included is the book "The Prayer request of christ."

Based on Matthew 9:37-38, the book helps readers understand the need for workers in christ's harvest and how each believer can "Be an Answer," to the Lord's Prayer request

This book is written to express gratitude to those who have come alongside Taking the Field Ministries. That said, may the content of these pages provide every reader with a fresh understanding of the claims and works of Jesus Christ. May it also serve as a reminder that what Jesus began two thousand years ago, he continues today through and with his followers. Through those who have embarked on a life that he prepared for them before the world began. A life that will glorify him, impact lives, and provide a sense of amazement.

THE PROMISE OF HEAVEN

This book, "The Promise" is based on Luke 23 and Jesus's promise to the thief dying next to him, "Today you will be with me in Paradise." It can not only help encourage the faith of a believer, but is also designed as an outreach tool to share with people who have not yet trusted in Christ.
