Our story

After teaching and coaching football in Ohio's Public Schools, PJ and his wife Delores, with the help and inspiration of close friends, founded P. J. Meduri Ministries now known as Taking the Field.

P.J. has ministered in numerous states and 28 foreign countries since his first international mission in 1994. He's been a volunteer and a staff member with the Fellowship of Christian Athletes (FCA). PJ is the author of 4 books and numerous devotional pieces for the FCA Coaches Bible.

PJ has a Doctor of Ministry Degree from North Greenville University in Greer, SC., and, is a partner evangelist with Luis Palau's Next Generation Alliance.

He and Delores reside in West Virginia and are blessed with 17 grandchildren.

Our beliefs

The core belief of Taking the Field, is that the Bible, as made up by 39 Old Testament and 27 New Testament books, is the inspired, inerrant Word of God. Therefore is it the final authority for faith and life. It is through these Holy Scriptures whereby we learn that forgiveness of sins and eternal life is solely the result of faith in the Person and work of the Lord Jesus Christ.

In addition, the ministry supports the Lausanne Covenant and believes that church leaders such as the Evangelist have been given by Christ to minister themselves, and, to equip God's people for works of ministry (Ephesians 4:11-16).
